Creative Morning @ MEET

I went to the creative morning @ meet last week. I was excited just ot go and catch up with Marc and Sara Schiller of wooster, but it turned out to be so much more. The speakers were Zach Klein and Casey Pugh. They demonstrated the arduino, which needs to be the name of a WOW deathknight FYI. As always thanks to Tina @ swissmiss for organizing the event.

Lightbulb Oven Rules It

On Friday, Erica and I went to an amazing event by Undergrounds Unite. It was a 12 course meal served by 5 different Supper Clubs: Homeslice West, Studiofeast, Ghetto Gourmet, Whisk & Ladle and my buddy sara from Lightbulb Oven.

Here is a little sample of the menu. The only issue we had was the serving times. But you don't really go into something like a 12 course meal served by 5 different kitchens for 150 people and not expect some issues. Besides the wine, from Brooklyn Oenology was awesome. They commission brooklyn artists to create the labels, and they tear off the bottle so you can keep the label. We grabbed a few. 

The meal started at 9pm.

3rd course - 22:05

Toasted Pumpkin Agnolotti w/spicy Pepitas & Brown Sugar 

(pecans replaced the pepitas, which is good for a texas boy like me)

7th course - 23:35

Buta No Kakuni / Japanese Pork Belly w/Napa Cabbage & Pickled Daikon

8th course - 23:55

Turducken Roulade w/Oyster Andouille Stuffing

9th course - 00:37

Arugula, Roasted Cranberry & Cornbread Crouton w/Blue Cheese Vinaigrette

10th course - 00:57

Beer Braised Brisket w/Southern Style Grits

Dark Chocolate Pistachio Linzer Torte

And there were other courses, but I didn't get photos. It's worth mentioning that the best course of the meal was the Fluke w/Yuzu Kosho & Vinaigrette, by Studiofeast.

Min Kim

Min has a new piece up at the atm group show. Her work is so amazing. These studio shots are from several years ago.

Be Prepared

I took this photo in a second hand shop in Nova Scotia. I loved the juxtaposition of the two posters. The Girl Scouts sued for copyright infringement. You can read about it here. Apparently, the case gets cited periodically when copyright cases come up. That just makes me happy. Also, her badge number is "69." I love attention to detail.

AI AP Release Party

Erica got a couple of her images from her "along the way" series in the newest "American Photography." The release party is  Thursday Nov. 13. If you're in town its always a blast, but it is not free, unfortunately.
